be gracious now to me calling out for compassion You are blameless when You judge make me hear Your joy let the bones You break sing out bring back the days keep me through the season You desire a broken heart, a contrite heart build the walls make them strong make me hear Your joy let the bones You break sing out bring back the days keep me through the season

out of the depths i have cried, "hear my voice!" if You should mark iniquity, who could stand? my soul waits for You more than the watchman for the morning there is forgiveness in You with You there is joy with You is abundant redemption my soul waits for You more than the watchman for the morning
4.
return, rescue, save there is no mention of You from the grave return, rescue, save for you, oh Lord, how long? for He has heard the voice of my tears for He receives my prayer He... (oh Lord, how long?) returns, rescues, saves
5.
in the day when i call, answer me quickly my days are consumed like smoke my bones are like glowing embers like grass, my heart has withered away i forget to eat my bread and now i'm only skin and bone like an owl of the wasteland, at night i lie awake i lie awake i am a sparrow alone on a housetop You hear the groaning prisoner i eat ashes like it's bread (You weaken my strength, You shorten my days) and mix my drink with tears my days are like a lengthened shadow, long and narrow and i wither away like grass the works of Your hands will perish but You will remain they will wear out like a garment like clothing You will change them and they will be changed

when i kept silent my body wasted away for day and night Your hand was heavy upon me my life was slowly drained with the fever heat of summer when i kept silent i did not hide and You forgave when i kept silent my body wasted away for day and night Your hand was heavy upon me my life was slowly drained with the fever heat of summer when i kept silent i prayed in a time of finding out i cried out in a flood of many waters i prayed in a time of finding out i cried out in a flood of many waters You are where i hide You compass me with shouts
8.
in Your eyes no one alive can say he's right before You i have been pursued my life has been crushed to the ground my spirit grows faint within me my heart is desolate as a parched land my soul longs for You my spirit fails You are not real to me teach me the way to walk and lead me on a firm foundation for the sake of Your name, revive me for i am Your servant

10.
Your arrows have pierced me Your hand has pressed down on me my guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden to heavy to bear All my desire is before You my strength fails me my sight grows dim like a deaf man, i do not hear i remain silent i am like a man who does not hear and in whose mouth are no arguements in You i place my hope cause You will answer for i am ready to fall and my sorrow is ever with me for i confess i am anxious because of my sin do not forsake me do not be far from me come quickly to help oh Lord, my Salvation!

about

Ikiru exists to bridge the forgotten space between sacred music and creativity.

They began in late 2005 with three members, a Fender Jaguar, a borrowed strat, a 70's Slingerland Drum Kit, a glockenspiel, an Ebay organ and a coconut. They wrote and recorded their first album, a collection of 7 prayers from sinful man to Holy God, the "Penitential Psalms."
